Today at the Global Diaspora and Development Forum hosted by UCD Clinton Institute in association with Irish Aid and Diaspora Matters Comhlámh launched a new discussion paper on Diaspora volunteering.

Presenting the paper at the Forum Comhlámh’s Research and Policy Officer, Siobán O’Brien Green, outlined the benefits of involving diaspora communities in international volunteering from Ireland. She also discussed data on this form of volunteering emerging from Comhlámh’s surveys of volunteer sending agencies in 2012 and 2013.

Siobán is presenting this new paper as part of a panel discussion on Diaspora, Humanitarian Action and Conflict with fellow speakers; Catherine Bragg (Former Deputy Head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs), Pat Gibbons (Centre for Humanitarian Action, University College Dublin) and Derek Evans (Cuso International, Canada).
