Event Information

This weekend workshop is open to anyone who has worked or volunteered overseas for 3 months or more in a development/humanitarian/aid or human rights capacity.

Come join Comhlámh staff and spend the weekend sharing experiences with other returned development workers & volunteers

  • Benefit from great networking opportunities
  • Look at how to apply the vast skills you have developed overseas and look at your "new lens" for looking at the world
  • Consider the readjustment process and culture shock of being home and look at ways to remain engaged in development issues from Ireland.

And of course, make new acquaintances and have fun!

Application and cancellation procedure

Application procedure:

The cost of the “Coming Home weekend” is fixed at €50. This includes accommodation and all meals for the weekend. Travel expenses are at the participants own expense.

There are no discounts offered if accommodation or meals are not availed of.

Please be advised that the following payment options are available to you:

Cash payments will not be accepted on the day of the event.

Cancellation policy:

We require a 3 day cancellation notification if you are unable to attend.

If you cancel your booking sooner than 3 days before the event the fee is non refundable.

If Comhlamh has to cancel the CHW for any reason, we will refund participants in full.

 
More information:
  • Individuals who have been overseas with VSO, UNV or Rapid Response Corps are exempt from the above fee as their organisations have provided grants for this purpose.
  • The workshop is a 2 day event, participation at the workshop requires attendance on both days, due to both workshop design and group dynamic.
