What Resources?

There is ongoing discussion amongst practitioners as to whether the terms ‘development education' and ‘global education' mean the same thing, or for instance whether ‘intercultural education' is an element of development/global education or vice-versa. In Comhlámh generally, we use the terms development education and global education interchangeably. So when looking at resources we will put these in the same category.

Although we generally consider intercultural/anti-racist education to be part of development ed/global education, we have categorised intercultural education materials separately, as these resources tend to be in specific demand.

Similarly although English as an Additional Language (EAL) could be viewed within the intercultural category, we have given it a section to itself.

Finally, although we would encourage a cross-curricular approach we recognise that teachers need to be able to access materials specific to particular curricular areas. Hence we include a small section with some ideas for resources suited to this purpose.
