Development Education

Development Education is at the heart of Comhlámh’s work.  In line with our mission of ‘challenging society on the root causes of global poverty and inequality and empower people to demand equity in global relations’ Comhlámh works with people interested in social justice, human rights and global development issues.

The 'First Wednesday Debates' at Bewley's Cafe Theatre, Dublin

Thanks to everyone who assisted in organising and deciding the debates in the series just completed and over the past three years, and especially to all our speakers and Chairs to date. We'll be back in October with a new series!

Hans Zomer (centre) chairs the very first Comhlámh 'First Wednesday' debate in October 2005 at Bewley's Cafe Theatre. On the left is Colin Roche and on the right Andy Storey, the first two speakers

Thank, Sarina!

Our sincere thanks to Sarina Bellissimo who has been working so effectively and so enthusiastically on the Compass Directions newsletter and our wider Development Education strand, but who has now left us to join Channel 6 TV as a presenter on their Take Six movie show (Thursday nights at 8pm). We'll sure miss her good cheer and Aussie accent around Comhlamh HQ. Trip the light fantastic, Sarina...
