A date for your diary. We’re having a residential members’ weekend to reflect on the organisation’s work.
With the existing Member Groups and Branches (Trade, Focus, Creative Writing, Belfast Group, Options and Issues, Dympna Meaney Fund, 40th Anniversary) re-emerging and new energies coming forward that want to look at; Climate/Fracking, Refugee Crisis locally and globally, Palestine Dev Ed group we have planned to host the AGM as part of a wider Members’ Weekend. Member weekends are two things; on the one hand they are great craic, but also a great moment for people to deepen their connections with each other and for the Member groups to come together, plan and reflect more deeply on where they want to go. It also serves to build synergies across groups. We will be supported by the Participation and Practice of Rights Project from Belfast whom many of you will be familiar with.
They will support the facilitation on Saturday after the AGM and help us to reflect on participation and action for change. We have booked out the Glencree Peace and Reconciliation Centre.
It’ll be on the 12th, 13th and 14th of June.
Over the weekend we’ll have time to do reflect, plan, relax, try some Capacitar, head up Djouce in the Wicklow hills and whatever else takes our fancy. If you are interested in holding a place please scroll down to our online application form and choose whichever option suits you. Should have any queries do contact Susan [email protected]
Please note if you are staying overnight you will need to bring your own towels and you may also want to bring your own alcohol as the centre does not provide either.
Comhlámh is Looking for New Board Members.
At this year’s AGM there will be 5 board members running for re-election and 3 board members standing down. So we are actively looking for new members to come and serve on a dynamic board at a really exciting time in the association’s life. In terms of getting a mix of skills for the board, we are keen to see people with knowledge of finance and also fundraising come forward.
A formal notification of the board meeting will be posted to members by early May, along with a copy of the next issue of Focus, nomination forms will also be included. If you have any queries on this, feel free to contact [email protected]
