Are you a Volunteer Development Worker and a Public Servant with an existing Public Service Pension Scheme?
If you can answer yes to the above question you may be entitled to avail of the Public Service Pension Scheme. Public Servants employed in the Republic of Ireland, who serve on ‘volunteer terms’ as Development Workers and are co-funded by Irish Aid may have pension contributions paid, covering up to a total of two years service, under certain conditions. Please see the instructions below for further information.
Pensions for everyone
Traditionally returned development workers have under-provided for their retirement, however as we are all leading longer more active lives it is important to plan for our financial future. It’s never too early or late to start a pension plan and it’s not as daunting a task as it first seems.
The Pensions Board also offers a selection of concise and informative booklets which include a pensions calculator and an information booklet ‘What Are My Pension Options?’ which can act as useful tools when looking at your pension options.
